Our high mountain valley in Northwestern Colorado (upriver from Meeker) was homesteaded nearly 100 years ago. It has been a place of refuge and the "base camp" for rugged adventures through five generations of our family. Spared development, this remote preserve is surrounded by public forest lands. It is on the edge of the vast Flat Tops Wilderness Area.

We raise Icelandic sheep as the perfect compliment to our wild land. Hardy and personable, this colorful sheep is known as a "triple-purpose" breed. We love this unusual and primitive breed for their glorious fleece, their sweet, rich milk and gourmet-acclaimed meat.

We have an organic mindset in managing the land and the sheep, using natural methods to every extent possible. Our flock enjoys a robust life on the pristine, spring-fed marshlands and meadows lush with native grass forage, wild berries, herbs and wildflowers. The land has never seen a plow.
